Soccer Addiction: World Cup 2010

Everywhere I click, mostly where I read and whatever I listen to is nothing but about the much mighty Soccer thrill. The thrust is so high, it is inevitable to escape anyone’s brain n heart. Each website is building the spirit of the magnificent event and South Africa is swearing a big treat to its audiences. Let come the 11^th day of June 2010 and the screen goes Flash… Ummm! I can imagine that buzzing sound of the audience’s cheer n jeer as though it’s the rhythm that is at par with the fragrance of the season. Excitement inflates for here the winner can be without being a player too for some have just scored so high as this one-

Wars That Made a King

Wars in the history of mankind have evolved through many stages and are instrumental in making of a hero. That age was of the brave warriors and the martyrs who with their do or die attitude swapped every opportunity to alter challenges to success. Wars and battlefields were the pride of a ruler, a place to display their chivalrous self. The men in battlefield CONFRONTED their enemy who were equally audacious. The kings that emerged victorious were the real protagonist whom the people admired and saw in them their role models. The warriors fascinated with their acumen and were cheered far and wide till where the pigeon could fly.

Amidst the bloodshed was a ray of hope every time a war ended. I can imagine very little the significance of the echo of a bugle to the people who lived in that era but, living in the harrowing 21^st century the history of wars is like a fragrance of ecstasy which engulfs my passionate self. I sense bravery, some sort of euphoric enlightenment when reading through the lines of history. The killings were not butchery because the men knew how to fight back with an equal opportunity to exhibit their heroism, whatsoever, confined to the battlefield.

The wars through history demonstrated the determination of the rulers, the unity that governed a kingdom, the strategies so fair. The trumpets roared, the crowds cheered, welcoming the victorious counterpart, thus a king was made.

Wars evolved through the years and soon it was synonymous to freedom and India is one of the biggest examples. The British called it Sepoy Mutiny, we call it Revolutionary Movement – 1857 saw one of the first and the biggest freedom movements of British India which shattered the foundation of the British government. Soon history made its way towards a subtle form of revolution and we call it the Satyagraha Movement and Non-Violence, a typical Gandhian theory. The spirit was same, the determination stronger and we have with us to applaud the 15^th of August 1947.

With education and discoveries men swapped wars to a technical age and here began the era of World Wars which also witnessed the mutilation of humanity. And then wars were belittled with cowardice act and the face of insurgency was misunderstood to be the fight for rights. The face of enemy is unknown, the insurgents went away from the battlefield and butchered humankind in roads and markets. They adapted to new technology but discarded valor. They act so diminutive that each innocent unshielded victim seems gigantic to them. It’s a shame that this is our age.

Sometimes it occurs to me that the brave went extinct by the gift of democracy and the concept misused by the opportunists who guards the country in the name of government. The power is acquired by anything which is not virtue. The strategies and the means are sized to their comfort and the term ‘Politically Correct’ was then discovered.   

Consecutive Greed

Getting bribed has always been a sordid equation and mass manipulation at the same time. There could be many reasons for accepting a bribe but, what is making this trend common now-a-days? Answer is Inflation which has been criticized with mass protest blaming x, y, and z yet, the loophole overlooked. All corruptions begin from or lead to a vicious business of monetary transactions and the media showering of politically opinionated discussions.

Apart from the manifold consequences of inflation, one hardcore drill is a question generally occurring in the subconscious state – why one needs a bribe? Bribing is at times a synonym of aristocracy but the situation of accepting bribe is the pre-occupied brain where the devil builds a workshop gradually.

If we begin with price-rise, each one of us is facing it and many are compromising to overcome this. It didn’t begin just yesterday, it has been here growing since years and the society has and is trying further to configure itself to cater to their basic necessities to begin with. The easy mode of decomposing the worries of inflation is the obvious trend of accepting bribes.

Let me take you to the world of a simple man named Human who had an honest income with a govt. job. He gets married to a beautiful lady and is blessed with 2 kids only, obliging to family planning needs. The kids grow and go to a value added school where the other kids of his society also go. May be a mismatch but has to manage his ego too. Every year the increasing school fees, extra large school expenses often demanded by school authorities for this and for that and also keeping his wife and family happy seemed to be his growing priority. Oh! It is just hard to protest the honesty of this simpleton. For the love of his family Human surrenders his commitments towards his job and refuses to deliver priority until a crispy package is sneaked beneath his working desk. Is he right! He has to meet the day to day expenses which his regular income cannot buy. Here Human ceases to be what his name implies or would be right to say that he grows to Desire.

Where did he go wrong? He has 2 kids which is advisable, a white collar job rendering a handsome income and a thoughtful decision before beginning with a family life. Then why was it difficult to send the kids to school, buy the basic necessities with this income? Thus his morbid journey which began with requirement then gradually became greed and more greed and on and on… and finally a habit. There is perhaps no ending to this for it is a vicious circle gripping so many to its fold. The situation around has seasoned this man in its flavor which is so strong that humanity is liquidated. Now he has a consistent habit and no regrets for this. With his habituated greed, he tarnishes off any obstacle with the same rule of bribing.

Going back to the point of his growing requirement, is there a way where we can give a different twist to the story? In the face of inflation can we keep his honesty intact? Perhaps someone from you can answer this!  You never know when you become a victim.

Forfeited Satyameva Jayate

The accused has been acquitted and finally I lost my 5 years and 3 months old battle for justice. It won’t be enough to say justice delayed is justice denied. First let me lay down my frustration as I have been rudely denied justice by the Additional Magistrate. I will not call it unfair but, definitely that was an INCOMPETENT JUDGMENT pronounced today (10^th of May 2010).

Perhaps no one will listen to me since everywhere bigger things are on everyone’s mind like Kasab, Ranjan Daimari and blah blah blah. But truly my agony has been dwarfed by the judiciary.
The Additional Magistrate said that after going through all the evidences, statements and witnesses it seemed my ex- didn’t deserve conviction just like Fahim and Saubuddin where, everything is open yet lack of evidence. Don’t know what exactly he had read through but, all the medical bills were false, kept on lingering the matter with absurd excuses and so on. Even for not arriving at the court on due date many a times warrant had been issued against him.

This was a matter of Husband wife where the latter, i.e. I have been tortured inside the four walls of privacy. MAY I KNOW WHEN THE MAGISTRATE AND OTHER WITNESSES PRODUCED BY THEM, ENTERED MY BEDROOM TO UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN WRONGED? What I had gone through is true but, the judicial system has made it false…the legal made illegal by the very judiciary… why? I never knew at the time of marriage that I will be immensely tortured and hence I am suppose to carry all the requirements to gather evidences like camera, tape recorder…

Yes, the way out to this is further continue the case and appeal to the high court. Foot-n-a-half!! I don’t have either the money or patience to fight ahead and forcefully sit back being wronged again and again. Everything went on fine at the beginning then, where was the turn of events? I know they are rich enough to pay from top to bottom and maybe this is it. There are many loopholes in this judgment which, if screwed would even put the Additional Magistrates (a couple of them were appointed during the span of 5 years) in trouble. I don’t have an option but to blog and shout out my agony, frustrations and so on. No, I have not been shattered….or may be.

Kasab You Are Done

Finally the verdict has been pronounced and Kasab will be hanged to death. Now every Indian has a reason to smile but, is this really the end of all? Justice has prevailed but neither is Kasab punished. Alyque Padamsee had rightly said (CNN IBN) that hanging Kasab is equal to making him a martyr and this is what they were here for - to die. So are we fulfilling the wishes of the jehadis? No doubt all charges on him are true and no matter what he had said in his defense. The bloodshed still fresh in the minds of each Indian and death is too little for him. Perhaps bigger punishment would have been life imprisonment.

We all know there is one bigger picture to this- the behind the scene actions. These young lads were mesmerized in the name of religion, assuring Heaven and life after death. It lets one wonder if these jehadis are literate enough to understand what religion is about or do they gulp what is fed to them. Kasab has to die even before he understands life as for the time being his emotional aptitude has been paralyzed in the name of religion. Death to a jehadi is like a soft touch of the feather and Kasab definitely deserves something harsh. Against thousands of chapters only one will be closed now. No loss and no gain. 

Just flashing in me -  what is Kasab's state of mind now after hearing the verdict..left alone!
